I had extensive dental trauma while I was deployed to Iraq in 2004 after being wounded in an IED attack. Most of the Dentists that I've seen since then (just about 15 total) ignore what I have to say and just lecture me on how I need to brush or floss how they say (which is usually different than how the last Dentist said to do it). Normally they do either the minimum required or they do whatever they can possibly do to get money compensation out of the appointment (often times excessive work that wasn't actually necessary). Needless to say, I haven't settled on a primary dentist since then because of that.
I saw this provider yesterday for an Army dental exam. He and his staff actually listened to what I had to say. I wasn't lectured on how I need to do "X-Y-Z", but was instead told "this is what's wrong and this is what work still needs to be done". They didn't just do the minimum work required by the Army but actually took the time to listen to me and see everything that was going on with my teeth. Excessive and unnecessary work wasn't completed. They went the full 9 yards and I've decided to make them my primary dental provider.
This praise doesn't come lightly and I've had nearly 2 decades of bad experiences with Dentists and have a profound dislike and distrust for their profession in general. This provider was able to dispell that and provide care that was genuine quality. I wish I could better articulate my experience here, but you'll just have to take my word for it: see this provider if you can.
